The pizza was fabulous. Service was very nice and there's more than enough food for myself and somebody that I was meeting for the first time on a blind date.
Stumbled upon this gem while walking near our Airbnb. The food is delicious italian food especially their speciality pizzas. We liked it so much we canceled our steak house reservation and came back for pasta and wine!
One easy thing I'd like to suggest to the owners to improve the pizza and it'll easily be a 5 star pizza joint.... I did takeout and baked and then broiled the pizza so it became crispy and a bit charred. After that, it was game over. I crave it bow like this and sadly I do not live nearby! Going to make the 45 minute drive out there and from now on I'll ask for it to be crispy/closer to well done. Pros 1. Great flavor of the pizzas I've tried (Elote, Brooklyn and Ricotta and Sausage). 2. Wide assortment of creative toppings and pie options Cons 1. Cook longer or broil to get it more crispy/charred so the crust isn't as soft, and then it'll be perfect!
Server was very friendly and accommodating to our needs. She made sure we had everything that would give us a first time experience. The atmosphere was quiet except for music. We were early before dinner crowd which gave us a more relaxing hour of conversation of our end of day conference. Avocado chopped salad: crispy texture lettuce, sweet with a tinge of tartness from the red wine vinegar dressing, roasted red pepper minced, chopped tomatoes, chopped cucumbers (slight crunchiness), and slices of avocado which gave a creaminess to everything. It was very tasty. My chicken broccoli Alfredo pasta was gluten free. They used zucchini noodles which was different and great! The noodles were super long!!! But had a slight crunchiness and needed to be cut, different, but healthy. Spinach, artichoke, Kalamata olives, and cauliflower pizza. Unbelievably tasty, the Kalamata olives added a little saltiness...to spinach, artichokes. I'm not sure what cheese was used, but it gave a creaminess to pizza. All in all, what a pleasant glutinous free option! Restaurant is behind WigWam Resort and Spa. They have gates that's fronting restaurants. You can get back in using your room key on scanner. Great time there...Ciao!
Really charming place and friendly staff. Our server got a bit overwhelmed but it got really busy while we were there - people must really like this place! The Caesar salad was very good with fresh crispy romaine. I do wish the Caesar came tossed. Maybe something to request. The pepperoni pizza did not disappoint, not overly spicy, excellent thin crispy crust and flavorful stretchy cheese. The sausage ricotta pizza has an olive oil base, a nice variation and the sausage was good with just a hint of fennel. The tiramisu is a new favorite with a creamy top and moist but not soggy middle. We will definitely be back. Q
Impromptu dinner on a Thursday with my mom and son! This place has been on my list to try. It was busy but a steady busy, not an overwhelming busy. Our waitress was attentive and knowledgeable. I couldn't decide between the bruschetta or burrata and she quickly recommended the burrata. Great suggestion, it was really good. My son devoured his spaghetti. Great serving of pasta and three huge meatballs. My mom had a pizza. She said it was good too. I had her rate the restaurant and she gave it 5 stars also. This will now be our go to Italian spot. I'm eager to try their other menu items.
We just moved back here from Cali- but used to live in North Peoria- so we are learning the good spots down here and live right down the street. This place was recommended by our friends who live in the Wigwam neighborhood. They're Big foodies like us, we love getting together and making excellent meals from scratch! Sometimes we would rather stay home and cook than go out because we are picky and compare how we make stuff. Lol! To give you an idea of where I'm coming from. We brought my MIL here a few weeks ago when she visited from Atlanta. She loves Italian and loves my husbands Italian cooking the best. However I'll say, we enjoyed all our meals! My husband ordered the spicy bolognese and it was def spicy but delicious- we love spice! Good portion- not too much, not too little. I ordered the prosciutto & arugula pizza- yummy! However I would have rather had the prosciutto and arugula thrown on at the end and had the tomatoes roasted a tad more. Flavor was excellent tho! I had leftovers and it heated well the next day in our toaster oven. Yum! They have a wood fired oven- love that aspect. Our boys ordered plain fettuccine Alfredo and devoured that and wanted 2nd's. Lol.... We ordered the garlic bread and marinara- the marinara is def from scratch and tastes amazing!!!! It was served hot- the bread was soft, airy but had the right amount of crisp on the outside. Good oil and seasoning on it. Could eat it alone or with the sauce. SOOO good- I def recommend that- it was the highlight of the dinner, honestly. The best I've ever had. I can't recall what my MIl ordered but she loved it and ate her whole portion. :) We all had some beer- I had their non alcoholic beer. I wish they had a little more variety. Also I wish they would get some non alcoholic wines. Having a nice red wine with my pizza would have been awesome. It's such a cute cozy spot! I really like it in there. It's nice, trendy even, but not pretentious. :) We ordered the tiramisu- I wasn't in love- that was the only thing I didn't care for. Was on the drier side. But that could be personal preference. I've tried so many different kinds- so I know what I like and won't order theirs again. Maybe a different dessert next time. We will see. Service is great each time we have been. We went again two nights ago- kinda late 8:30ish... so we didn't have a wait this time. Sat inside again. Although it was a beautiful night for patio seating but they were still pretty packed and busy. All good! My husband's old Air Force buddy and his GF flew into town and that was the first spot we thought to take them to dinner. They loved it all! We ordered the marinara and bread again- bread was excellent again- the marinara was cold though, which didn't do the flavors any favor... it's better served warm- IMO. I'll be sure to request it next time- to be on the safe side. We ordered 3 other items and shared them all bc we couldn't decide. Margarita Pizza- yum- classicly tasty! Chicken Fettuccini Alfredo- good! (Almost as good as my husbands! :) ) Spicy Bolognese again, :) it's become our fave. Must have been a different cook this time bc it wasn't as spicy as the first time we ordered it a few weeks ago. Still good. Took a lot home- leftovers were yummy warmed up again! :) We had fun, such good ambience there, cozy lighting, friendly service, cool area, fast service I'd say! We enjoyed our time we were there catching up with friends! Got a decent buzz and went home to continue hanging. Thanks for the good food, ambience and spot to hang while catching up with an old buddy! Everyone was happy and impressed. I'd recommend this spot 100%. We will be back again soon, I'm positive!
